Question How to get lift on the cheep with a rubi

Hey

Any idears on what's the cheapest lift on a rubicon?
Would larger tires do much on stock rims?
Or should I look towards lift kits?

Cheers
Danny

If you need tyres perfect time to upsize.
Spacers will also work.

how high do you want to go?

How cheap, whats your budget?

Cheap way is spacers and new shocks and i would not go more than 2 inchs if doing it on the cheap. A set of 33's would help mildly as this would only give half an inch increase in height

Spacers and shocks is the cheapest, but springs are not really that much more expensive than the spacers when compared to the shocks.... I tried the Mopar 2 inch coils but have found them to stiff (in the 2 door petrol). Apart from that it is advised they can be used with the stock shocks - wrong... only 30mm remaining travel

On top of that, you really need to lengthen both front and rear sway bar links and maybe extend the bump stops (depends on the shocks/coils used, over 2 inch its starting to get close, over 3 inch its definatley needed)

No such thing as a cheap lift on a JK if you do it properly, the parts just keep adding up, do it right in the 1st place & you will save money in the long run, otherwise you will just keep replacing parts you dont like until your happy with the height & ride quality, to get both together it comes at a price, but worth it in the long run
