Default Looking for wide 32" Tyres for the JK (QLD transport legal..)

Hi All,

After much searching and bouts of depression (the thought of 32"s have that effect on me...) I thought I would ask the question here, are there any 12.5 wide or wider 32"s?

I don't mind if they are all terrains or muddies just trying to find something that will have my tyres within the QLD transport guidelines and not look as soft as the stock tyres... I'm looking to run on atmost 4.5" backspace rims to keep inline with my guards - if they fit my existing 16" alloy procomps then all the better.

Cheers,
B.

265/70r16 = 32" Mickey T MTZ

can you get away with a 285/70r17? Depending on manufacturer of tyre obviously. Mickey T's website has all measurements of their tyres stated.

bighorns can be had in 32x12.5r16 it seems
275/65/17 Maxxis a/t/771

seems like plenty of range elsewhere in the world.

I maybe just retarded when it comes to looking at maxxis site but I can't see any 12.5 wide 32"ish tyres anywhere...?

The rest of the world doesn't look to have much of a selection either for 1 good reason, no flippin' point not just going to a 33, 35"+ tyre bar abiding with QLD transports ass backward rules..

Cheers,
B.

You can compare the overall diameter of just about every tire made at tirerack.com just select the select the ones you want to compare. 285/70/17 KM2s and wrangler MTRs are 33" but the BFG AT and wrangler duratracks are 32.8"

Thanks reddragon.

Based on my calcs 285/75 R16's / 32.8" (this wouldn't be there actual height, that's just the calculated diameter) would however still be a few mm over qld's 15mm increase limit making it far far to dangerous for onroad use there for giving grounds for defect...

Cheers,
B.

I can't see why not, but I had them ready to go on - lined them up to the current setup at which point I went off on my tangent looking for a Unimog.... I really can't bring myself to put the stockers on because it looks stupid with the 2" wider flares.

Cheers,
B.
