In the piddling down rain of last few weeks I was quite chuffed that ours hadnt leaked. Then jumped in bout 3 days ago and it smelled a little musty - closer inpection found the carpet in passenger footwell not just wet but underwater...

Mine looked to be running infrom the bottom of the door - need to do some more prying next rains to find out.

there's an article on installing the hard top a specific way to prevent leaks here:

http://www.jeepfan.com/tech/JKTopPanelInstallation.php

I don't get my first jk for another week so would be interested to know if this resolves the problem for you guys.

From what I've heard, the hardtop leak does not occur when driving, only when standing still in the rain?

I am running the soft top.... I think the water was running in from a few inches from the front of the top of the door, then running all the way round the front of the door then dripping off the bottom and running over the plastic beside the carpet then onto the plastic.

a common leak point in the front is from the windscreen header seal and the window frame/hard top seal channel.

Chrysler in their wisdom have used low density foam in this location. Fail. This foam will get water logged in constant rain conditions and may leak down internally in the door seal or dropping down onto the door handle.

Mine is doing exactly the same, apparently there are some TSB's which fix this with a new seal on the freedom top ... when i find out the number's i'll pass them on
