Default Transmission Noise!?

So after a day of wheeling yesterday (solid driving), (mud included) there is a whine now on acceleration. Only when the foot is on the gas is there noise. No noise when rolling (in gear or out). First guess is transmission, bearing of some kind? Have extended breathers etc...
It shifts smoothly.
No vibrations.

Anyone point me in the right direction?

Could it be the input shaft bearing, if so, any tell tale signs I should look for.

It's a howling whine noise if that helps...

So far my list to check..
1.Check/grease unis
2.Check Carden joint
3.Check yoke for movement
4.Check transfer case mounts
5.Drain gearbox oil
6.Drain tranny oil
7.Drain diff oil

Anything else peoples?

Unhappy

I had a new box put in by the dealer in cairns and its always had a whine from then on, they can't figure out what has caused it and apparently all is fine.
Just drove 6000k's and its still working fine.

Well it must have been the fact that I posted up b4 that now the whine has turned to a very hi pitched squeal with a sound like a Bering has disintegrated any ideas what bearing this could be the sound is coming from where the box meets the engine :'(
