Default 265/65R17 tyre pressures?

Hi guys
Just had 265/65R17 Pirelli ATR's fitted to my WH & wondered what tyre pressures others with these sized tyres were running?
How much lower do you run your off-road pressures than your highway pressures?
I know of the '4lb rule' & wanted a starting point to play from; tyre place said 40lb unloaded which I thought sounded a tad high?
Thanks

On road 36-40 maybe 34. Offroad - what ever gives you traction and /or comfort. Just remember to take it slow, especially turning if you start going below 18.

I put the same tyres on about 35000k's ago and reckon they're great. Have them on the AEV Pintler rims (thanks Stu) and don't come close to rubbing but are borderline sticking out beyond the guards. Run them at 36psi and they are quiet as on the road. The increase in rolling diameter has made the speedo as spot on as it's ever going to get but has also resulted in slightly worse fuel consumption.

I Drop them to 28 for extended driving on corrugations but haven't been on anything where I've felt the need to go lower since getting them.

So your rig has no lift? thats great news. I had tried to fit 255x75x17 off a Wrangler and mine rubbed and thats with a 55mm king springs lift. I had to swap back to 255x65x17's
