After being recommended to these guys by a mate I thought I would give them a go.

I needed a new housing/seal that sits below the water pump impeller on a little Yamaha 6hp motor. I priced it up locally and it was $146. Didnt sound to bad, considering the impeller itself was about $50 recently.

Just ordered of boat.net and bought the housing, plus 2 new oil seals, plus the gasket underneath the housing, PLUS a new impeller (just to have a spare) and the whole lot shipped was AU$105....

I love supporting local business, but thats just rediculous.

Two thumbs up for boats.net with excellent communication updates via automated emails to keep you in the know of whats going on.

Thanks for that - I'm due for impeller replacement so that may be the way to go.

The other thing I liked was the local dealer told me the housing I was after I had to buy from him and I needed the model number, the year of manufacture and the serial number as the parts constantly changed mid model and no one else would be able to sell me one that fit.

The Boat.net site confirmed that the part I needed fits both the 6hp and the 8hp models from 1984 through to 2005.... It has also now been superceeded by a new part number, which is ALSO compatible for all models in this size made after 2006. Go figure!

they don't just take a guess that they are sending the right part either,

Dave you must have FAR too much cashola... living in Noosa, driving a Jeep (all Jeeps require a money pit) and you have a boat as well !
