Question question for the bright sparks

Put a yellow top 750cca in and have been told by an auto sparky that I may need to upgrade the alternator in the ol girl if the standard isnt up to scratch ie effectively charge and effectively maintain the yellow top, so my questions are...
1. What is the current amps of the standard 3.7v6 05 facelift?
2. where would I find that info
3 What would be a suitable alternator if current isnt up to the standard of maintaining the bigger than stock battery
4 HAs anyone installed a 750cca battery and had issues, yellow top or not?

you need to get a new auto sparky, you will be fine, alternator can provide 70-80 amps, more than enough to charge the battery!

use the old water tank analogy, alternator is a pump filling the tank (battery)

all you have done is fit a bigger tank, with a larger outlet pipe... alt will still fill it...

HOWEVER

Have you added a lot of electrical accessories? whats your total current draw? if its more than the alternator can supply, then you could require an upgraded alternator, this is typically done if you're running a winch often...

Never had an issue with either the Yellow top or Blue top in my V6, even with the dual battery setup and extra 100amphr deepcycle, both always charged nicely.

Today's "smart" battery isolators will charge the primary battery first, then "overflow" the charge into the secondary battery. No need to upgrade the alternator.

At idle, what voltage (potential) is there across the terminals?
