The orange one locks the center diff in the transfercase so even if one rear or one front wheel is off the ground the opposite end will still get drive, you'll need to loose traction from one front and one rear to be stopped. The green one doesn't lock the center diff so as soon as any wheel looses traction alll the power will go to that wheel and you'll stop. Basically orange for low traction surfaces (4X4 terrain) with minimal grip, green for hi traction surfaces (wet or dry does't matter it'll run fine on dry tarmac)
