Default Head light issues, 2005 TJ

So last night i was driving and my low beams, my high beams, high beams & spotties all worked fine.

Tonight i went to turn on my low beams and i only had parkers, high beam, high beam & spotties, no low beam at all, with either drivers side or passengers side.

I pulled out the drivers side head light to check out the bulb, and it had that blue-ish discolouration on the bulb that would suggest that it has blown, yet the element inside appeared to be perfect. so i put it all back together and decided to drive home, from m parents place on high beam only, no spotties. and i got about 3/4 of the way home, and thought i'd try out the low beams, just to see, and fair enough the low beams worked.

I have NFI on what could be causing a problem such as this to occur, so if anyone has experianced this problem before, or has any idea on what it could be, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

I think it's just the awesome wiring in the jeeps. Since I bought myn nearly 5 years ago the lights will go out for no aparent reason. I used to just run it up a curb it usually comes back on. but I just put a cable tie round the wires into the back of the light to keep them fairly strait and they seem to stay on. I no this probably doesn't help but it might give u a quick fix

Its a jeep thing, mine does it to occasionally, it started to do it way to often and then for other reasons i needed to change the combonation switch and since this it has done it once in 6 months.
