Default TJ Problems

If anyone is in the know and has some advice my list of issues are.

- Accelerating from stand still in 1st gear can cause a bit of a shudder/vibration the car is almost bunny hopping (but a lot less violent obviously).

- There is general vibrations accelerating and coasting virtually all the time, but U-joints 'appear' tight when I tug on them, it's 2" lifted but does have SYE

- Unless your super cautious releasing the clutch between gears and even then it's hard it will make a clunk noise when releasing the clutch, this can be done by tapping the accelerator too. Loudish clunk.

- Winch doesn't work (looking into that atm, looks like motor is shagged)

- Power steering pumps makes a loud noise sort of squeal on full lock until you back the steering off it doesn't sound like a belt squeal.

Any help would be great if you don't mind emailing skeletonbobo@hotmail.com

I have it booked in to get a look over on Friday but in all honesty don't trust mechanics much at all, dealt with far too many clueless ones that often I'm more capable than.

The shutter makes me think some sort of t-case or g-box mount is shagged, uni's also feel shagged but feel tight by hand when i get underneath, clunk on accel scares me as that could very easy be something in driveline, gbox, tcase or diff :S.

The spiggot bearing doesn't seem too health so it could be clutch related...

Thanks guys.

Pinion angles may be out..... When my clutch was on its way out I got shuddering and vibes through the drive train as well. As soon as the new clutch went in was all good.

Another quick check for mud can be to pull the starter out undo then 3 inspection plate bolts at the bottom of the bell housing pop a smallish screwdriver in the gap to open it up. Then get your garden hose and spray it in the starter hole. You should get some mud out of the inspection plate gap.
Oh and do it outside!
