Default Vibrations/Shudder under throttle

G'day

My TJ has "New" issue.
Under acceleration I get a harsh vibration from the rear.
At a constant speed, and off throttle rolling it pretty much disappears.
I'm assuming it drive train.

The TJ is an auto, has a SYE and a double cardin rear shaft.

The pinion seal is leaking a small amount of oil, but I don't think this is related.

Thanks for you help.
Cheers
Dave

check your uni's?

mine is doing this and found it to be the rear uni on the tail shaft (diff end).

How do you tell if they are shagged out?

mine was completely shagged! but just slowly rotating the drive shaft from side to side, there should be no slack in the uni joint itself. (the drive shaft should move a little in each direction for slack in the diff / transfercase).

compare it to the front one maybe, hopefully its in better condition and can tell the difference between the two...?
