Default XJ Stroker 4.7L

Hey Guys,

Im looking at putting a stroked 4.7L motor in my xj when i start my build. I have done some reading and Jeep Engines Australia seem to have a good rep when it comes to the XJ motor.

I have also read that mopar do a 4.7L as well. Has anyone heard of these or used any of them personally?

Is there anything else I should be aware of before putting a stroker in?
Also are there other mods that should be done to areas such as the cooling system or changes to the gearbox and transfer case?

Thanks again..

The Mopar 4.7 ltr is a v8 & as for cooling upgrades , just the usual tweaks you do for the 4.0 ltr should see you good .

Need more power and low-end torque out of your 1991-06 Jeep Wrangler or

engine assembly is the solution to beef up the Jeep 4.0L I-6 for towing,
offroading, or rock crawling.

This is the Mopar engine I found on their website.

When and if my engine finally dies I think I will go down this path, I spoke with the guys at Jeep Engines Aus and they were incredibly helpful and even managed to share a few details that allowed me to confirm that they would run fine on LPG. I would definitely be using them to source the long block as I have already read very positive things about them.

Any ideas on cost?

Will the factory injection handle it?

From the discussions I had with them the factory computer continues to run everything but the injectors are upgraded to give higher fuel delivery. The cost for the long block was close to $5,000.
