Default suspension/winch bar

Hey everyone! I need some help in picking a lift kit and winch bar for my 05 Cherokee. I am very new to 4x4 (bought it on friday) and was quoted about 3500 for an oldman emu 40 mm lift + arb winchbar installed but went to another store and is was about 2500 for seemingly the same thing but in the iron man 4x4 brand. Please help asap as I am hoping to have it ready by the June long weekend in two weeks

G'day mate, I have the OME Lift kit and about to get an ARB Bar and that cost sounds about right (Lift Kit and Bar are around 1700 each, installed). ARB are the only ones who do a bar for the KJ so not sure what they are quoting at for Ironman.

With the ARB bar, there's about a 8week build time (time until they get around to building them) for them so i'm sorry to say that they won't have that ready for you by the long weekend, I wanted mine ready for July thought that isn't going to happen. I still haven't ordered it though because i believed there to be no rush now, not sure when i'll be on the tracks after July.

Let us know how you go.

Welcome to the KJ world...

Tchap, give Stu a ring at Murchison Products (Brisbane). Stu is the expert on lifting KJs and an AJOR sponsor. You'll never get more than a 40mm lift from ARB or TJM but Stu has kits that go to 3" or 75mm but you don't want to go any higher than that in a KJ. BTW, anything over a combined 50mm (tyre and lift height) is illegal in most states these days, but gnerally speaking no ones notices a bit more on a KJ.

It is illegal and I don't think i'd want to test it with insurance etc...

Up to you though, it is your car.

If yours is a CRD and you are putting a bull bar and winch on the front you may need some heavier springs in the front than most supply.
We found the CRD springs sag with our steel bar.
I believe CRD Stu has some Heavier Duty springs that compensates for this..
If its a petrol you may be able to use the CRD springs.???
