Default jeep vm diesel issue blowing out oil??

well i looked into my rocker cover leaking again, it apears that it is building up presure and blowing out where it can, it is also blowing smoke out the hose when i remove it, dont think it is normal?? as my other one doesnt blow smoke when you remove the pipe??. and they both have about the same ammount of preasure.

when i put the hose back onto the catch can you can see smoke coming out the back of the rocker cover and see oil blowing out.
also when you hold your finger over the pipe it pushes oil out of the oil catch can??

is the engine stuffed???

any info or advise would be great on if it can be repaired

see the attached video.

hey bud...make sure breathers are clear and pressure crankcase valve is working if it has any...it is normal for smoke to come out dont stress..start it up with everything connected and remove oil filler cap...if it blows a fair amount of air out then the breather hoses r blocked...hope this helps

How long was that engine sitting? It may have stuck rings.
Some people have had luck with marvel mystery oil. I have used ATF in diesels that have been sitting unused for years..
With the engine set so the pistons are about 1/2 way in the bore. Place about a tea spoon of ATF or MMO down each glow plug hole & let it sit for a week, You can add more 1/2 way through the week.
after, spin the engine to remove excess, put it back together & take it for a good run.

Thanks . There is only the 1 breather hose and its not blocked. The only other thing it could be is the feed line from the catch can to the sump. But if its blowing oil out the catch can with out the breather on I doubt its block.

This is on my green one not the white one. Im thinking it could possibly be a buggered valve seal?

Just watched the vid...

Looks like IMO blowby from worn rings or cracked ring(s).Leakdown test would tell for sure.

MM
That makes a difference.
A diesel can run happily for a long time with that much blow by . ER is on the money with a leak down test. It is not likely your valves.
Worn rings is probably the issue. I dont know if these engines are known for stuck rings. Normally associated with using veggie oil as fuel.
Compression test on a hot engine will show a bit.

thanks guys.
well i pulled oil catch can out nothing is blocked there.
took the rocker cover off and the back of the gasket has seperated and this is where the leak was.

i checked it out with an old/good gasket fitted it up and the gasket doesnt quite sit properly at the rear of the no. 4 head..

so i have put a new gasket on and a silicon gasket as well.

i will find my pressure tester tool (that i made out of a old glow plug) so i can do the compression test.
Any idears on what the comression should be??
the last vm diesel i compression tested was 380 on 3 cylinders and 400 on 1
