Default AC unit not working

Hey Guys,
I'm here again with more problems with my Commander, I love it but I have had now over 7 months of one thing after another going wrong with it....just about at the end of my tether with it...
Swirl motor, inlet manifolds, front diff mounts, starter motor, glow plugs, glow plug timer...there is more but I just cant list it all...
I have now been told that the condenser has leaked all the gas out of it.
Its nearly $900 for the part and just under $300 per hour (its a 2 hour job apparently) to install.
Does this seem a bit steep?
Its a V6 3.0L 2010 (built 2009) XH CRD with 122k's on the clock....thought it would have lasted longer....
Any help would be appreciated... I'm in western Sydney and would like someone that is not going to screw me and but will fix it properly.
Thanks, Ben.

Was it treated badly with it's last owner?

I haven't had problems apart from normal wear and tear. But we do have a air conditioning issue. As previous posted the computer doesn't switch on the fan when the aircon is running. I'm looking into fitting a thermo fan on the front...maybe

Shit idea with Jeep expecting the fan on the engine side to cool all (condenser, intercooler and radiator).

Have you though about fitting a after market condenser?

I've never checked if the fan starts with the a/c running. However if it doesn't, it shouldn't be hard to run a relay off the a/c clutch solenoid to run the fan with the a/c.

It would be a bit harder than that to set up as its a hydraulic fan motor controlled by the computer telling the valve when to open.

Hi guys, pretty sure the fan would only come on under high system pressure. This usually occurs if stuck in traffic or hot days. Once moving the air through the front grill will keep it cool
