Default HELP: Problem with HEI Distributor.

I bought a new HEI dizzy for the 258 and i cant get ANY spark now. Ive followed all the instructions, there is only 2 wires (and ones a tacho and isnt needed). the other one goes to either the battery (it says BATT on the dizzy) or to the main power line in the loom. IM made sure the plugs and leads are good (NEW), the firing order is correct, the rotor lines up with NO#1 piston at TDC, Ive made sure i dont have it 180degree's out of sync. Ive read and re-read every HEI thread i can find, read and re-read the wiring diag's but the bugger still wont fire up. There is just NO SPARK. i know the dizzy is getting power (test light) and the engine turns over fine. Compression is 145 on 4 and 135 on 2. Ran ok with old dizzy but had a miss

Any ideas what else to look at.

Firing order is right way round (clockwise/anti clockwise)

Have you removed the spark plug and tested to see if there is any actual spark at the spark plug?

Seems like you have covered everything..... Coil is sweet? Maybe faulty dizzy?
