Hi All,
New forum member here, purchased my first 4x4 a 1999 WJ Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7l V8 with 212,000 on clock in September and it's been great.
Have taken it out gold prospecting to Warwick and Gympie on a couple of trips now. Gave it a real bush bashing (no roads on the old goldfields) and now it's got some issues.
It's now blowing white smoke and missing so I think I have either blown a head gasket or I have a dodgy ignition coil. Might also have a leaking water pump. It's still driving fine though just can't kill a jeep.
Really finding it hard to get parts. Got quoted six different prices for the ignition coil ranging from $90 to $165.
Also need to get it a rear taillight socket for the brake light and a rim and tyre for spare but I am told I'll need to go to a wrecker to get these as the five star pattern on the rim is unique on this model apparently the limited lugs are wider apart than the standard Grand Cherokee.
Any advice on all the above items would be greatly appreciated.
Can't get it into Jeep Albion until next week.
Will post some pics of it when I work out how to.
Anyway hope to meet you all out in the field sometime.
Regards
Grant
