Default 2.5 diesel power loss 1900-2000rpm

My xj diesel ran out of fuel the other day I got a major service done on it and now it makes no power after 1900-2000rpm

it sounds like the dreaded limp mode !
First off disconnect your battery over night & see if that fixes it.
Next check the resistance of the sensor on #1 injector. will need to disconnect the lead at the plug near the fuel filter. It should be about 100ohms.
If that is good, probably time to get jeep to plug their DRB11 computer onto the OBD2 socket & look for engine faults.

Will a.scangauge 2 scanner work on a 98 2.5

With it disconnected you are supposed to use a multi meter to check the resistance of the sensor.
