Default WK2 CRD - 2" Lift, Rock Rails, Skid Plates, Larger Tyres

Hey all!

Some feedback for those who are considering the same.
I have a 2011 JGC WK2 CRD Laredo

Had Stu Murchison from Murchison Products do his 2" lift kit.
Jeep rides very well. Its actually comfier and just feels better. Not tested it off-road yet as only got the car back 2 days ago.

Stu also installed the Mopar rock rails. They look and feel very very solid. They also stick out far enough to serve as a step up for the vertically challenged and also offer protection from door damage in car parks.

He also installed the Mopar skid plates (all but the fuel tank ones). The might be added later.

Car is booked in to get larger rubber this Saturday. Very little tyre choice here in Oz at the moment. Probably going to get the Cooper AT/3.
Trying for the 285/65R18 and if they don't fit, will drop down to the 275/65R18.
Will give update if the 285s fit.

Hi m121180
I've had crd stu's lift in for over six months now and it performs well of road
We have BFG at 265/65/18 on the standard rim, I don't think you could go any bigger with rubbing the wheel well

Quite a few ppl over in USA are fitting 275/65R18s and they seem to fit fine.
Either way I'll find out this Saturday what the largest size will be and will post some pics.

PS. Love the black rims. Thats that next thing on my list (along with blacking out all the pretty boy chrome).

All the US guys that have fitted tires bigger than 265/65/18 have fitted after market rims with different off set to the standard 18 inch rim, a lot of there tires stick out side the wheel arches, if you want to use your GC off road you'll find that any thing bigger than 265/65/18 will rub
I'm speaking from my own experience and I am telling you the 265/65/18 only just clear the inner wheel arch on the standard rim
What ever tyre you try make sure you take it for a drive and articulate yours suspension, eg speed bump while on full steering lock

Also just remembered the spare, the 265/65/18 fits in the spare wheel well just.
I don't think any thing bigger will and you need your spare to have the same size outer diameter as the other tires
