Exclamation Legalities of auxilary fuel tanks

Hey Guys,

So just wondering if anyone knows the legalities of storing a fuel tank in the rear where the rear muffler is? I came across this bad boy:

http://www.genright.com/ProductInfo....ctid=GST8002-2

I am wondeirng if we'd have any difficulties with it? A part of me thinks that any fuel tank behind the rear axle is illegal, not to sure if I'm correct or just imagining things?

Cheers in advance guys

If it is a illegal then it must be a new thing cause many holdens run tanks behind the rear axles.
I would be keen for one too.

Fuel tanks on the TJ are behind the axle.

It's not illegal to have a fuel tank behind the rear axle. However there are ADR's for tanks.

Nearly all long range tanks fit at the rear so I don't see how it can be illegal.

Definitely wrong. XJ has tank behind back axle, so do some Mercedes & most wagons.
Cant imagine where you got the idea from.
