Default New wk2 laredo WHITE SMOKE THROUGH THE AIR CONDITIONER!!!

We have a laredo just 2 weeks old which on friday the air con was on fresh air and thick white smoke filled up the cabin, this is in peak hour on southern cross drive outside audi in sydney. I only drive on weekends and last week smelt plastic coming through air-con and thought new engine, car, maybe bit of plastic left on some parts etc. So 2 hours later car gets towed another half hour for a taxi...Wife extrememly unhappy her anfd my 5yr old sunburnt extremly late for work, school.
Shit happens cars break more than likely its human error as i think pipe split or somethings not done up on the pollution gear which is near vents yada yada. As you know the dealers fall over you before they have there cheque in your hand customer service blah blah blah!!!!The car went back to get camera installed all good gave us a new triton to use,m come back with a slice in the roof which they didnt tell me about agreed to fix all good. Thinking the service would be even better after what my wife and son have been through feeling sick headaches lost time was i mistaken! After both of us ringing them 20 or so times we got a car..au falcon, ants, worn brakes, window not working, boot doesnt open, smelly diff about to let go.Principal or sales wont return calls! Monday should be intresting after chrysler aus. is informed of another happy customer and whats funny is this dealer even said they pride themsleves on customer serice and dont want to lpose any of their stars!! Funny oh well the JEEP adventure continues.

Sounds like just about any and every car dealer in the country these days. Jeep however should and needs to try harder than the others are they are pretty much still a boutique dealer in this country. Also with the lack of dealer network and customers having to drive some solid distances for services and warranty issues they should be trying way harder. That is why my wife will never let us buy a new Jeep and I must reluctantly agree with her in this case with our nearest (useless) dealer some 70k's away.

If only you could hold back some funds till end of warranty time for example to ensure they kept treating you as well as prepurchase days. WE just bought a new car for the wife last Saturday and they were great. Planning the 2hr drive back to pick up this Saturday but the saleman rings today to say sorry but just realised you want to pick up on Saturday. That's our big mega sale day and the boss won't let us do any handovers that day as it's too busy, can you come Friday. And this is our second car, different brand, from the same group.

So again cause they've already got us hooked they are throwing us in the livetank so they can recast and keep on fishing. So they are favouring potential tyre kickers over a bona fide customer.

Default From Smoked

Hi Lenno,
My WK2 Limited went through the same problem, I have been chasing this issue for 4 mths. Jeep have had a look at the car twice. The second time they repaired a firewall leak(Throttle cable grommet in firewall), this reduced the issue but problem was still there. I contacted Just answers from this site and recieved a reply. I received a reply saying that the mech/tech had repaired at least 5 vehicles with this issue. The chrysler tech from WA said "you should mention about the TSB #11-001-12 or mention RAPID RESPONSE TRANSMITTAL (RRT) 12-012. They have to find this document and carry out procedure". The white smoke was probably caused by the preservative that is sprayed on the vehicle for shipping and has now burnt off. My dealer has booked my vehicle in on the 15th Feb and will hold the vehicle for 2 weeks while I am away OS to ensure that the problem is solved.
Give this info to your dealer and ask that he follows it up. I will let you know how my repair goes when I return. I must say that my dealer gas been extremely co-operate in this matter. Good luck
