Default Best rim offset for a WH

In the next few months I'm gonna get a lift kit 2-3"

I want to get a new set of rims to clear the front suspension bolt.

What rim offset and rim width should I be looking at getting?
I want to stick with the 17" for maximum possible tyre size

Also I'm I right in saying the bolt pattern is a 127mm?

Is this correct 50.8mm

And if so would something around the +10 8" rim be good?

Hi Shaun,
I bought 17" rims off a Jeep Commander. Apparently they have the right offset. The tyres I have are 265/70/17 and are 800mm overall diameter.
Almost the largest tyre that you can fit.
They do clear the bolt, but rub on the inner guard at times.

Cheers, Craig

Would they still rub with a lift kit or do you already have that?
What model and year commander did they come off?

Hi Shaun, I do have Stu's lift kit. The rubbing is only minor and only on full lock......sometimes.
The rims came off a 2008 Commander.

The back spacing of the rim is what you need to know the most,

The original rims have a backspacing of 6.25 inch’s

Commander has a backspacing of 6 inch’s, a ¼ inch (6mm) further away from the bolt

My personal favourite is the KMC Rockstar
KMC XD Rockstar Wheel have a backspacing of 5.9 inch, approx 9mm further away from the bolt, I don’t know if these rims are hub centric though

AEV rims have a backspacing of 5.75 inch’s, a ½ inch (12.5mm) further away from the bolt

American Expedition Vehicles,
Quote:
They have a WK/XK-specific offset, which provides the optimal balance of tire clearance (up to 37” tires)
AEV rims are avaliable here in OZ through Murchison’s, the same place to get your lift from
http://www.murchisonproducts.com.au/mod-cons.php

I think valpacer runs a smaller backspacing again which required him to fit flares to his guards and a lift of 4 “(could be more)
Check out his post as he has done most of the hard work for us and imo has the toughest WH in OZ

Very illegal. With ifs you can only increase track 1" do you can only increase offset 12mm.
