Default Stuffed CAS?

Long story short, XJ's been hydro locked in the driveway for a couple months and in an attempt to move it, I removed 3 sparks to release the water from the cylinders and rotated manually. After doing this, I'm now getting no spark and my ASD relay is buzzing, occasionally getting "no bus" on the odo.

First thought was the wiring harness near 6 plug was drowned with water and was shorting but its had time to dry with no avail.

Secondly, whilst rotating, I went both ways. Could this have damaged the CAS?

On a similar note, anyone got a good source for a new head at a good price for a pre-update?

I assume by CAS you're referring to the Crank Position Sensor (CPS) in the bellhousing? If so then rotation direction will have no effect on it.
As for a head being a pre-update has no bearing on the head cost as the same head was used from late 95 up to late 99 but there was two heads used in the pre-updates, the 94's and early 95's used one model that had the finned alloy rocker cover, the later ones used the presed metal covers....

Because I loath Acronyms and I work with the Air force (not in it thankfully) I just have to say CPS is Crankshaft Position Sensor. CAS is Crankshaft Angle Sensor. Both are correct, it all depends on which manual you want to read.

Default Stuffed CAS?

Ditto for CKP and CMP for crank and cam respectively.

Sorry not sure on best place for a new head locally, there are a couple of places in the US such as Alabama cylinder heads but freight would be a killer. Why not get it reconditioned?

Thats all very well and good but if you stick to what the manufacturer calls it then it makes it easier especially when the factory documentation for fault finding using error codes calls it a CPS, the factory manuals are THE only ones worth looking at...

I was just commenting on you correcting the acronym when its the same thing but yea understand the using the same lingo as the manual if you have the manual and know that is what it is called.
I work on multiple cars and if I kept that thought my god I'd get confused

And Vichi what is wrong with the old head that you can't get it serviced and brought back into condition. Last head I got done was a touch over 300. Done roughly 4 months ago.
