Default Coffs Harbour Camping & 4Wheeling Adventure (May 2nd - May 12th)

My wife and I are packing up the WK2 (http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...d.php?t=123892) and heading down from the Gold Coast to the Coffs Harbour area for 10 days of Camping, 4Wheeling & fun.

We've done a few trips up to Fraser Island before, but this is our first trip to Coffs. If anyone would like to join us for all or part of the trip, we'd love to have some fellow Jeepers join us. Even if you don't have a Jeep you're welcome to join us. We always enjoy pulling Toyota's, Nissans & Land Rovers out of the mud too. It should be a fun trip filled with 4Wheeling and magnificent scenery during the day and then a few beers and a few laughs over the campfire each night.

Here are a few of the campgrounds we've picked out for the trip, but we are definitely open to any suggestions. As I said, this is our first trip to Coffs and any local knowledge is greatly appreciated.

A. Woody Head Campground (1.5 hrs north of Coffs, on the beach with facilities including hot showers)
http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/...ground/camping
$28 per day
Fire BBQ with firewood supplied

http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/...ground/camping
$10 per adult (first in first served)
Firewood avail free at Station Creek turnoff
5x 4WD tracks according to 4WDEarth.com.au

C. Nymboida River Campground (1 hr northwest of Coffs, on the Nymboida River in the Nymboida National Park, no facilities, 4WD access only)
http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/...und/campground
no cost
fire ok bring your own firewood
5x 4WD tracks according to 4WDEarth.com.au

D. Thungutti Campground (1 hr southwest from Coffs, in the New England National park, includes facilities with cold showers)
http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/...und/campground
$5 per adult per night
Fire BBQ with firewood supplied
3x 4WD tracks according to 4WDEarth.com.au

Thanks Stephen & Marg. It was very nice meeting you on the LCMP trip and we look forward to some more trips in the future. We will definitely let you know if we plan any short weekend trips, and I'll be sure to post a few photos from the Coffs trip when we get back.

Cheers Bill & Sammy

I'll be posting some pics soon. After 10 days off of work, there was a bit of catching up to do when we got home.

We had a great trip to Coffs Harbour! Beautiful campgrounds and some spectacular 4Wheeling. We saw Kangaroos, Bush Turkeys, Deer, Large Monitor Lizards and 1 very cheeky Dingo. Even though the Jeep is home and fully polished with the road tires back on, I am already thinking about our next adventure.

For anyone that is interested, you can see some of the great photos from our adventure here, (https://www.flickr.com/photos/bmacki...7633841665076/).

Here are a few of the highlights.
