Default Aurora Or Rigid Industries Dually Owners - advice please

So the story goes, bought myself a $120 ebay chinese 20" odd LED light bar.

Generally I'm very happy with it - great spread of light, just doesn't quite have the distance I was hoping for.

So I'm thinking of adding a pair of Dually's (either Aurora or Rigids) to the A pillar to try and fix my lack of penetration

For those with Dually's spots - are you happy with their performance, do they light up well down the road? Is there much spread?

I know this is all pretty subjective but your thoughts would be appreciated.

Have a pair of auara's which have a higher output than the rigids, haven't really had a good chance to test them yet but they seem to be more of a spread beam.

I don't have either. But can tell you that led lights by nature do not get alot of distance. If you want to throw light 500+ meters you need a light with a deep lens.

The 4 led dually type lights im not very happy with they fill in gaps well but forget range i would get one of those scorpians but there expensive. My 50'" throws light easy 600m, and for what i here dont bother with the chinese ebay crap spend the money on a quaility light.

I've got D2's and standard Dually's.
The standard Dually's do like Rock God said, they fill the gaps, but the D2's do punch a lot of light a good distance - but they are bloody expensive in Oz.
I haven't used the Aurora's but if I needed more, I'd give them a go and see what they are like - they are significantly cheaper than the Dually's

I have the older model rigids (2x spread & 2x beam) and they do a very good job IMO, but was recently looking at the D2's which look far better for output.

It now looks like i'll be picking up a set of scorpions today at the wandin show off grizzly adams instead.

The D2's are just over $400 a pair if buying overseas. On the DBOR site they are $405.00 but it looks like that's the individual price.(doesn't state single or pair on the web page)

Thanks for the replies guys.

I'm not looking to send a wall of light into the next postcode. My chinese bar throws light wide & far enough, it's just on the edge of it's reach down the road I want a little brighter.

I've read through the link xdefender posted, which like most led light threads turned into a sh!tfight of Aurora v Rigid but some very good info regardless.

I think the newer Aurora's with the 10W leds should fit the bill.
Checked their website, apparently the 10w led cubes have more lumens (3200 v 2200) but have less penetration (480m v 600m) than the 5w led cubes.

How the hell does that work - both are spot configuration??

Maybe 10w is more a driving pattern maybe?
