Default Cape York without the front diff?

I'm still waiting for the new sensor to arrive from the US, the one that Jeep says is causing the Serv4wd error. It's supposed to arrive in Cairns on the 21st and be fitted then. Hopefully that will get rid of the problem, but I suppose I'll never really know.

We're planning on a quick run up to the tip of Cape York, taking the easy way, not the OT track. This is only meant to be a quick side trip from our lap around Oz in the van, not a complete exploration of the Cape, so there are no plans for any serious 4wd'ing.

For those that have been there, is it sensible to do that trip with the risk of the Serv4wd error coming back? Are there any potential trouble spots on the main easy road I might have trouble with?

Also, are there any deep water crossings? At this stage we will be doing the trip last week of July / first week of August, so I don't expect any rain. Fingers crossed.

Yes it is easy definitely 2wd high range, however, there are literately thousands of corrugations if you just go up the development road.
