Default TJ 06 Sport Flares V TJ Rubicon Flares - 1" Wider?

I'm looking at flare options that are OEM but are wider than stock TJ Sport. Is it true that the US Rubicon flares are 1" wider than the stock flares we got on the Oz TJ Sport?

The Rubicon flares apparently have a full 4.25" flare which is supposedly 1" wider than stock. I've measured my stock Sport flares and they seem to be at least 4.25".

According to reference this is a TJ Rubicon with ARB deluxe bumper. Looks like a 1" wider flare but these are OEM rubicon flares? Part number MOPAR # 82208136. The pics I've seen on Quad etc don't look to be this wide. Are they comparing the extra width to an earlier TJ Sport flare that was narrower?

Sport flares that sit on the ARB bumper edge.

The US rubicon flare is same with as the oz delivered sport flares. The yellow tj in your pic has the warn 6" flares which apparently are only now available as 7".

The US "sport" spec flare is about as wide as the small flare extension behind your front flare running along the sill.

That's not a Rubicon. Being an Aussie unit & the Rubi not being available out here.
Pus I am fairly certain I know that specific vehicle (was built by Subrbarn4wd) and it had Warn 6" flares.

Do you specifically want OEM flares, or are ones that look like/have the same shape/profile as OEM flares OK?

I have 7" flares that maintain the same drop sides and shape as OEM ones and still use OEM indicators etc. It could be an option to look into something like that? I'm fairly sure Rugged Ridge do them in the OEM style too

Default Getting Clearer

Thank you. As I suspected it seems that the Oz Sport TJ flares are actually the same width as the US Rubicon flares.

My TJ has the ARB bar and grey flares as on the black TJ pictured.

I don't want the mega wide flares. Only want 1" on the black TJ which is 6"?

I guess this means getting the ones that are on the yellow TJ.

What brand the yellow TJ flares?

Glad I started this thread as I was close to getting the rubi ones.

The ones on the yellow tj in the pic you posted are the WARN brand. They used to make them in 6" wide but I have been told they only do 7" wide now.

So 4.75" flare is the same width as the stock TJ flare in Oz? I touch wider? 6" would be the max I would want. Even 5" would be fine as my stockies are just a bit to narrow for 265's.
