Default Fuel Tech Question

Hey Jeepers, my fuel econ is getting worse on my JKU CRD. Now sitting at 15.1 on the dash. On inspection underneath I have found a broken line connector and unsure what it does presently. It is located at the back, top of the fuel tank, it runs from the tank to somewhere near the filler. At the tank it is the white plastic cover (uncertain if this is the top of the tank pump or not), it's about 10-15 cm round and has three lines (fuel or breathers I guess) coming off it. The small one facing 7-8 o'clock has been snapped off and guessing this occurred at the dealership when the did the tank pump just recently. Anyone with ideas could be helpful. TIA.

If its the fuel return line that is broken. You will be pumping fuel onto the ground at times.

No, nothing coming out of it when the engine is running. I assume that it is some sort of breather. I am going to attempt to fabricate a joiner up on the weekend to fix it. I am thinking that my poor fuel econ is because it only travels 3 km, twice a day. Not warming up etc. I have been reading articles on the DPF clogging up and causing issues, so I may need to take it for a good run as well.

I always drop 2-3L after a highway run on the weekend after a week of traffic, then it slowly builds back to 14L again by Wednesday. Apart from a 120kml headwind last week that increased it by 2-3l!
