I have decided that the beeper needs to go. Were is it located.
Its the one that beeps if you leave the key in the ignition with the door open.
Cheers

AFAIK I don't think its as simple as disconnecting a wire if that's what you have in mind. Mine played up when I removed the dash a couple of years ago, kept beeping even with the key in. Somehow it stopped which from memory a wire had come unplugged which caused it to beep continually. It still beeps now but only with the keys in and the door open. I too hate the beeping but have not yet gone with the chime buster mod.

Regards A

If that's possible post up how you achieved it as I would like to mute mine if possible without buying the chime buster mechanism.

In facelift XJs the chime is on the back of the cluster circuit board. Some remove it by gripping it with pliers and twisting.

On the drivers door switch there is an extra wire on the drivers side which goes to the cluster for the door open signal. If that wire is cut (or on-off switch added) no door open chimes (keys in, lights on) will sound, and you'd still get chimes for check gauges, low fuel etc.

The seat belt reminder chimes at ignition on can be silenced by simply disconnecting the wire going to the seat belt receptacle under the seat.
