Default had enough

ive posted this before but here is an update.
PROBLEM ; scapping noise from front left brake?
When u apply brake the noise changes to a higher pitch.Also if u slightly depress the brake pedal the noise is louder.
FIXES THAT HAVENT WORKED;
Mechanic has replaced brake pads,uni,machined rotor,checked dust cover isnt touching,lubed everything concering brake. I suggested that the piston isnt retracting fully in the caliper but he said no its not that.
Because its under 3 month
2ND hand dealer warranty it hasnt cost me anything. After yet again picking it up from the mechanic and he hasnt solved the the problem i return to the dealer and he suggested i take it to someone else to fault find and then return it back to the dealers mechanic. Any one know what is causing this scrapping noise .PLEASE HELP

when you say machined rotor i assume "machined both rotors" was meant to be written? & i think your right could be the left piston not functioning properly I had a simular problem with my TJ had to service & clean both front caliper & pistons & gave the hydrolics a really good flush been no bother since.

First of all can you be certain that the work is being carried out. Being a 2nd hand dealers mechanic they could just be saying that they have to try and deter you from bringing it back over and over. To me it sounds like a brake pad wear indicator is touching, light scrapping noise when driving/ coasting then a high pitch noise when brake pedal applied. Could also be a rock caught behind the backing plate. Can you get a video/recording of the noise?

What rims do you have? Are you certain it's the brake?

The difference between theory and practice is.. In theory there is no difference.

Have u checked the front drive shift near the uni joins? It may have dry mud stuck in between the joins and as it is spinning makes a grinding noise. I used to get it on the rear of my patrol alot.

This is not hard to do, remove the caliper, inspect the two bolts on which the caliper floats, if you see any wear marks on the bolts replace them. With the caliper out look for anything protruding past the pad and make sure the pad has enough meat on it, should be at least 5mm thick.
Look for any gouges in the disc, should be very smooth if just machined.
Don't ever think that because someone is a mechanic they are competent, my Mrs. is a qualified mechanic but I won't let her touch my car.
