Default 96 transfer case

Well after a good trashing over the weekend I just put the jeep in Lo this morning and some crunching noises are coming out of it. Possibly low on oil as its leaking lol. Could it be anything else at all?

Could be a lot of things.

Check the condition of the fluid and the level of the fluid.

If both are good adjust the TCase linkage. If it still makes a ruckus, get a different case.

Cheers mate. I changed the fluid this morning but no change. It sounds like it's slipping under load. Could that be the linkage?

If you were using 4WD over the weekend & had not used it for some time, it is possible the chain has stretched/worn at the section above oil level. Owners manual says case should be engaged periodically (for lubrication). Chain may now slack & jumping teeth.

Just pulled the front drive shaft as it needs a rebuild wen I put my new t-case in on Friday and I took the jeep for a run up the road and put it in low and flexed it a little with some power down and the t-case didn't skip and make the crunching noise. Can someone tell me wats the go please.
