Default Extractors from eBay

Hi all i purchased some headers for the xj to get rid of my exhaust leak and economy woes , ordered a genuine inlet/exhaust gasket from jeep. Do i have to add anything to the gasket before fitment? and should i retorque to factory specs on installation with the stainless headers?

I tend to put a thin smear of RTV or other 'gasketmaker' on both sides of my gaskets, to seal of little burs or imperfections. But that's my personal modus operandi.
Regarding the torque specs, good question, I dont know if your new stainless steel would have significantly different specs regarding that, but sure others who done this chime in on this.

btw, been looking at the headers on ebay, were yours the $300+ ones?

Make sure the inlet manifold is mounted properly on the dowels that stick out of the head, I had a hell of a time fitting my cheap ebay exhaust manifold up, ended up refitting the damn thing like 3 times before I realised the inlet manifold wasn't sitting on its dowels properly.

Also make sure you undo all the bolts before trying to pull the inlet/exhaust manifold off, don't do what I did, assume you got them all and then lever on the inlet manifold and CRACK...time for new inlet manifold...
