Default WH CRD Question

Hi Guys, after a bit of info from people who have had WH Crd's for a lot longer than me.
When I get home I reverse the car up the drive which is on a bit of an incline so Im reversing up hill.
My question is I have noticed that sometimes while reversing up the drive if i stop accelerating the car will come to total stop like i have hit the brakes.
Other times it will roll forward.

Any ideas on what could be causing this and why it is not consistent?

I have not had this issue, but rarely reverse up hill. I know I have the option of hill start assist, I wonder if this is sometimes enacted and other times not. Just bouncing ideas around.

Check the hand brake brake linings, they are known to delaminate & cause binding.

I have checked the handbrake linings and they look fine. Rear calipers are working fine as well. Thinking it may be transfer case, diff or trans locking up but cant imagine why. I purchased Autoenginuity with the Jeep add and no codes are thrown. Have never come across this type of thing before.

dose it make a difference when the transmission is cold compared to warmed up(previously driven that day)

I have a steep drive way & if I let my grand roll forward whilst in reverse it tends to stall the engine.

Doesn't seem to happen when cold, only when warm. This led me to think fluid levels which I have messed around with and no change.
Once it locks up I really need to rev it to about 1800rpm to get it moving again.

I'd say its time for a new filter & maybe a flush.
if you want to know if the fluid level is right drain & measure the amount, it should be about 1.7/1.8L
