Default New Jeep - what extras do I need?

Hi, Newbie here ... My first 4WD (MY15 GC Overland Diesel) will arrive in my driveway the first week of April.
I have put aside $1000 for extras, am wondering if those more experienced can advise what I should get ... What should my priorities be (with respect to accessories)
Usage: around town during the week ... Weekend adventures every 2nd weekend ... Nothing extreme off road (I am an off-road newbie), only what is possible with stock 20" wheels and without high risk of scratches/dents.
What is the best spend for my $1000? ... Front recovery hook? ... Recovery kit? ... I have no idea ... Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Bash plates, change your tyres straight up to something decent and recovery kit.
