Default February Rant Thread

Damn... Here it is 3rd of Feb and no rant thread yet!

Let me start one off on a positive note for once. After being sacked in September last year for being too honest I have been struggling with bills and am currently working at Office Works of all places to keep ends meeting..

Applied for many jobs only to not hear back or to be told (edit: inferred, not actually stated unfortunately) I was too old or to be offered insulting wages.

Well today I got confirmation of a new offer, one I didn't apply for, thats double my last full time wage. Project Manager for a private training company.

Well worth the wait me thinks. More so the wife is very happy. Jeep will be happy too

Positive rant over and postive thoughts to all seeking a better 2015!

Walked into a supermarket yesterday, and like most the supermarket had a local services / for sale items board; thought I'd check it out and see what the local sell....Well F&@k me!

2012 BMW X6 - low km's for $17.5K - in imaculate condition etc. WOW, then I saw a nice bike a a great price, then on the far side of the board was a yellow car for sale, I walked over and the add read:

Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2
Model: 2013
KM: under 15,000 - under warranty
Full options, excellent condition
No paint or accident (damage)
Price: AED$495,000

Which is around $173 AU, Can't get over how cheap the luxury cars are in the UAE! That more than $100k cheaper than in AU, just amazed to see it on a supermarket wall....hehehe

Too old at 49? Those employers need some reality check. And then offering low wages in their greed ! Geez, I do understand your feelings, mate.

Good that things turned out well.

Did they actually tell you in writing that you were too old, if so they could be in a position to buy you a new jeep with all the mods you want, as you know age discrimination is illegal in this country & big penaltys apply, take them to the cleaners,

Congrats on the new job seacomms.

I'm also planning on a big 2015, after just being offered the same job as I'm currently doing with another big rival 4wd company. Where does the 'rant' part of this come in? I told my wife I'd need to be replacing the current company's gear on my jk with the new ones, and she gave me THAT stare!

Oh, and Ive been told I have next weekend as my last weekend to go and play at lcmp in the jeep with some mates... My 2nd ( and first girl) is due in the start of March so going to be a busy time for me. Means I bash around in the dunga D22 so swmbo can drive the safer car with the two kids. Yep, my jk is gonna be a shopping cart/ kid hauler. At least she can use the bar work to get the best park at the daycare center.

On the plus side, I can see more father and son camping trips coming up even if it's in the old ute!
