Default Wrangler JK Lean - Spacer or Springs?

Hey guys,

I have a 2012 JKU with the Mopar factory lift kit. It leans quite a bit to the right side (1-inch). On our last trip with a fully packed car I noticed that the right rear wheel rubs on the flare when flexing through bumps. My theory about it is, that the dealership probably put the the springs in the wrong way as the fuel tank and armory is on the right side and therefore the spring (rate) needs to be a bit longer (harder) on that particular side. Probably followed the instructions for the LHD version of the Jeep.

Anyone had the same issue? Would it be better to:

1. get a spacer for the right side to maintain the same height and would you do both front and rear (think the front is okay though, need to measure it).
2. Swap the springs over on the rear
3. replace the springs with something better (actually very happy with the lift, been driving a stock JK which was way worse on handling corrugated roads)

Thanks in advance

The size of the spring is not the direct cause of it rubbing. You need bigger bump stops to prevent this.

But why don't I have this issue on the other side?

US - fuel tank and driver on opposite sides = no lean
AU - Fuel Tank and Driver on same side = lean

Pretty much normal to have a lean, just use a spacer.

And me.

Then I replaced the OME springs & spacers with IKON ones. Rides nicer now!

But then, the OME springs had over 125,000km on them, so a bit of time to squash on the right. I did consider swapping them left to right for a while...

The Mopar springs were not designed with a left and right coil and were in fact designed and made in Australia by Lovells (so no US or LHD issues). They were renowned for sagging with a constant load. Mine in the 2 door were perfectly level both when installed and when removed 5000km later. They were way to heavy for the 2 door petrol which is probably why mine never sagged, but then they also were not in there for long.

Either stick a spacer in the drivers side or just swap left to right for now.

Also if the rear is an inch lower on the right the front will be too unless you are on non-level ground, have low enough air pressure in the tyres or have a twisted chassis.
