Default XJ Cherokee AC Bypass belt

G'day,
picked up a 1995 XJ Cherokee 4.0l on the weekend. Scrubbed up fairly nicely after a days cleaning. One issue was the clutch bearing on the AC is shot. Still ran but noisy and on its way out. Couldn't find any belt sizes searching online (only idler pulleys to replace which would mean i have to take off my icy cold AC and get a regas when i get a new pulley and bearing.). So here's my input.

6PK2275 will bypass the AC compressor completely and jeep runs fine.

The fan belt drive has a lot less belt contact but had no issue with it getting hot city driving and idling (no need to manually turn on electrofan as i monitored it). The tensioner does sit a little higher than stock but still within tolerance and my string measurement was for a 2PK2260 or 2265 mm once you account for belt thickness. (there is size tolerance for a quick fix if other sizes aren't in stock.

Hope this helps anyone else who wants to keep their Jeep moving while sorting out AC issues!

On a side not if anyone has a AC Compressor clutch removal puller they can lend in Perth for a 6 pack of cold beers please holla my way.
Cheers

Cheers, have been thinking about running purely electric fans but the idea of a mechanical failsafe if a fuse blows e.t.c. appeals to me. Was mainly posting this as when i searched for bypass ideas all the results were yanks saying that it cant be done and must have a bypass pulley.

You can always bypass electronic fuses as well. All u need is wire or if glass fuse, use a bolt

Or, like back in the day, when I had my Cortina, the fuse blew for the headlights, so ripped out the lining of me winnie reds, wrapped it around the fuse and put it back. Worked like that for years.

Yes I remember in the late 80's my Escort blew fuses. Done the Winfield blue wrapper job on the fuse box as well. Only worked on the high beams.
