Default Aldi Winch

I bought one of these Aldi winches 9 months ago. It's a9000 pound winch. Does anyone have any experience with these? I heard that they are a re-badged Ironman. I've read on the Patrol forums that they are great value ??

I've never owned one but know people with them and have spoken to others out on the track about them. By all accounts they have an exellent reputation. Don't think I would trust them personally, but I've never herd a bad word said about them. I think the come from the same factory as other name brand chinese winches

Ditto. Heard a lot of people bag them, but never someone that bought one!

I have one, but I drive a Jeep so haven't had to use it :-P

Jokes aside, its quite heavy, but I put that down to it having cable as apposed to rope. So far no hassles with mine, but in truth I really haven't had to use it much.

They are a good winch for the price.

Pull them down and regrease everything and reseal it. Have had cheap winches before and there let down is the lack of grease and sealing used when first put together. I did this with the couple I have owned and never had an issue with them

Keep them clean, sealed and lubricated and you won't have any problems.

Biggest issue with all of the cheaper Chinese winches is water ingress. Second is soft metal used in the gearing.

The can of beans I bought from Aldi were pretty good, so in saying that, the winch will be just as good as a can of beans.
