Default provent 200 catch can for crd

I know everyone loves the Provent and after reading up on them here I was thinking of getting one, the only thing I don't like about them is the replaceable filter and would prefer one that could be washed out and clean like a stainless steel filter type like the HP diesel ones, has anyone got any info they'd like to share on this thought.

You can get washable stainless steel filters on ebay to fit the provent 200, not sure how well they work but they could be worth a look.

I just got a roll of the special filter paper and change it every 20k km. Costs nothing. Just wrap it around and hold it with a couple of cable ties.

The replaceable cartridges are a fortune!

I got it from work actually, found it by mistake when I was looking for something else in the store... Its a fibrous filter paper which I think we use it in the lab for something. I've just cut it into strips to suit the provent. I'm sure you could find it on ebay or on the net somewhere.

Are these provents beneficial if you have the GDE tune that disables the EGR?

Absolutely. Will extend turbo life, reduce oil build up in you intercooler and hence improve fuel efficiency/power, extend life of intercooler hoses etc.
