Water in Passenger footwell

Doing a clean of the car today I noticed the passenger side carpet looked damp.

Having a bit of time and wanting to do things right I pulled off the trim and lifted the carpet to find a rather large pool of water in there

Extra time spent drying the floor pan and cable run.... Now sitting out in the carport with the carpet lifted trying to dry that out.

The water was crystal clear, so I have pretty much ruled out the heater core. I thought it might have been the air-conditioning drain but that seems to be flowing outside like normal and I ran the car for over an hour on the trip to pick my wife up from work and there's no extra fluid.

Now thinking windscreen seals might be the culprit. Am I on the right track or could it be something more sinister?

Car is a 2004 petrol Limited.

Air con drain hose is plugged, a common problem for some folks. Do a search here and you will find threads on resolving the probkem - clearing the drain. It's down low on the passenger side firewall, you can see the little curved rubber hose - assuming It's still there.

Thanks Glend. Also saw the issue with early KJs with the design of the drain in the engine bay. Will be buying some 16mm hose to fashion a better drain.

Now to pull out the front seat and passenger side carpet to dry it properly.

At least it gave me more of a chance to tidy up my dual battery wiring.
