Default Questions on lifting

Good morning all,

Just a quick question on lifting the GC 30mm using the King Springs I see listed on eBay. Is there enough travel in the OEM shocks to take up the lift without topping out?

The simple answer is yes BUT.

Its a prick of a job fitting the new springs to the strut. Save yourself time & money & get new struts as well.

If its an affordability thing just get some top or bottom spacers, when you eventually get around to fitting all new suspension I guarantee you will be able to sell the spacers here.

If I was going to do my lift again I would use adjustable coilovers. There are several kits available from King, Fox & Icon. Bit $$ but you pay for what you get.

Yes, it's affordability, but landed in Oz, a set of spacers is about the same cost as a set of springs.

I really only want a little bit of lift, will spacers do me justice?

I would probably wait till you can get the struts before fitting the springs.

You will likely get a bit more lift from the spacers than regular lifted coils and retain the factory feel.

When I bought my WH it came medium duty King springs with factory shocks. Provided about 30mm of lift but more firm ride. More Yanks rather the 2.5" spacers as it offers nearly the same lift as a heavy duty OME lift. I guess if you want to retain factory feel get spacers. If you want a firmer ride, get springs.

I am going to revise my whole suspension this year with struts as well as I want more articulation.

"Six in one, half-dozen in the other".
I would personally go steel but that's just preference. Would be better resale as well.
