Exclamation VM Diesel

Was just under my 97 xj Cherokee diesel looking at the starter to formulate a plan to replace it when I noticed glycol stains running down the engine block behind the turbo.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they know where it could be coming from.
I haven't had the car very long and are trying to sort out all the issues.
Would be handy if I had an owners manual.

Any chance you could provide some pics there are a few too many places it could be coming from. Are you able to locate the source of the leak at all ?

Mud Slut it is hard to see in the pic but between the manifolds on the block. I have a bad feeling it might be coming from the head gasket.

I'm in Qld.
I will try to get hold of an inspection camera over the weekend. Tomorrow I'll top up the coolant and get the engine to operating temperature and have a look. When I got the car the the temp gauge would go up just past the halfway mark. I flushed the engine and radiator and now the gauge only goes just past the quarter mark.

Run with a loose cooling system cap.
The water manifold may need new gaskets
Re-tension the heads may help.

If I run with a loose cooling system cap the system will not pressurise and make it harder to locate the leak.
I was wondering if there was any Welsh plugs near the turbo.
