Default 2" or 2.5" lift

Hi all, sitting in bed reading everything i can on lifts kit. Getting it done in 3 weeks from uneek 4x4. Cant make up my mind how high to go. From what i heard 2.5 is not legal. I had a bad experience with a insurance company so wanted to keep it legal which would be 2inch. Am i going to miss much going that low ? Should i just get it 2.5? Im wondering if they would ever find out.

Any advise would be great cheers

I'm no expert but 2" of lift and 2" of tyre increase is the limit, or this is my understanding. Spaek to Dave or Craig at Uneek they know their stuff. As the total of 4" over lift and tyre might apply. Also the heights are nominal so the actual lift may not be exactly 50.4mm.

What brenifit can I expect from a 2" lift with NO change in tyre diameter, how much extra ground clearance is gained?

I'd recommend 2.5 if thats possible, unless your not adding any other weight to the KK you will get a bit of settling. Yeah with wheels you'll be over the limit but your not going to be looking like the land cruiser driving around with 8" of lift.

I had the CRDSTU kit put in. A lot of folks here have. I went the HD as I was always going to be carrying at least the weight of the rack, barwork and winch. I think the ride feels great, not to hard at all. Can't tell you how much it settled though.

I would love an extra inch lift to be honest. Theres been a few mud pits that I just stopped short due to the diff running aground. Its not REALLY needed, but I'd love it for that little bit of extra clearance when horsing around on some trails.

None, unless you change the rubber the diff and axles sit at the same height.
