Default ARB bar and winch clearance

Looks like I might finally get that winch in, just in time for my getting stuck season. I may have a clearance problem though and I'm hoping some of you with the ARB bar could give me an idea of how far forward the tops of your winches sit.

I run a 20" light bar up front there and its rear housing does protrude a bit over where the winch hole cover is right now. There's not really all that much in the way of good winching anchors where I usually drive so the light is more important to help me avoid the traps. I see the ARB intensitys will fit with winch, but they're hideously expensive and not as good. I could go the 50" route but I'd rather not spend the money if I don't have to and I'd probably be better spending it on parts to help me avoid getting stuck in the first place.

Could you put the light bar on the top brackets instead of the lower ones?

Always a possibility but I didn't pick the bar size with that in mind, assume I'd need to have some mounts fabricated, could work though? Anyone done it? I've mounted antenna down back with the spare so I won't actually need those mounts up on the hoop for anything I don't think

Can you mount 2 tabs forward of the winch using the pre set holes and have the light bar level with the number plate should help keep it from protruding to far forward and give you some clearance for the winch.

Default ARB bar and winch clearance

I have a 20in single row lightbar sitting in front of a Runva winch with no problems. Used existing holes in ARB bar in front of winch position. Lightbar overhangs the bar a little but is still behind hinge mounted number plate.

Right now it's mounted on a U bracket which sits flush with the front of the bar, the standard legs it came with don't work with the stock mounting holes, so a little limited as far as the stock holes go. Sounds like there will be a way to get it to fit though, will also have a look at using tube mounts and maybe have it hanging below the hoop or something

Blugeepunlimited hows the runva going? I was pretty set on one of the Warns but the price has managed to hold me back.

If you aren't using the mounts on top of the hoop and the 20" lightbar mounts don't line up with those hoop mounts just make yourself a bracket that will mount to those holes and fix the lightbar to the bracket.

I looked at doing this myself ages ago but wanted my UHF aerials mounted as high as possible so they took those mounts.

I'm running a 50" lightbar on mine for night runs on the beach however a smaller lightbar on the front bar is a better way to go.
