Default Rugged Ridge/Mopar light bar on Oz spec

Hey guys, my first post here and first Jeep.

I wanted to put a couple of basic spots on the front as I do a lot of late night distance driving.. so went ahead and ordered the RR/Mopar bolt on light bar.. 'cept it doesn't want to bolt on.. I pretty much had a bunch of the front end off, watched all the Youtube vids etc, only thing I can think of is the question of if Oz Spec JKs have a completely different front bumper setup to the US Spec JK?

All the videos say yes theyre a pug to fit but it should just sit there nice and tight, I can't even get the brackets to sit where they should.

Cheers

Hey mate. It's true, Au jeep are a bit different have have somewhat different bumpers.

I'll have a look at the light bar you grabbed and see if I can figure out how to get it mounted.

Edit:

So I've taken off my plastic oem bumper and fabbed up a custom one from the metal one beneath but the mounting holes for the Mopar lightbar are present, so you might just need to make some modifications to the plastic with a dremel or something to persuade it to fit.

I took a photo under, lined up the bracket with the holes, you can see the upper valance must be wider on oz/euro jeeps, no way that bracket would fit up and over like on the US JKs.. (Ive drawn some red lines to show where things line up.

Hmm.. do I cut the plastic or just dump the lot and buy a uneek bumper..

If you're open to the idea of buying a new bumper, why not try cutting the plastic first.

If you like it, Cool. If not, buy a new bumper.

I didnt like the plastic so I made my own from the metal that is udnerneath. Not exactly legal, but nothing else on the jeep is either.
