Question This is not Right Temp issue Solved

As you all know I am always on and on about my running temperature changed everything etc etc and still I get a constant 100 to 105 temps well I thought the temp sender might be crap so I looked at mine and saw that it looked newish but had been rewired so I sorta left that idea alone
now I was looking on ebay for temp senders today and it dawned on me!! the pic of the xj temp sender it is set up to plug in to the wiring like any other sensor the sensor I have is hot wired in my thinking is it is non genuine and might be giving false readings? 10 deg out? if so I might be running normal temps I need a infa red temp gun

be nice if it was this simple

The jeep sender has a ceramic female plug on top, which is hard NOT to break on R&R

That isnt a genuine from yr pic, they are $35 on ebay

or..for $15, I ordered the digital gauge with sender off ebay..from OS, they are about twice that in Oz, its very accurate, and may be used as trans temp gauge later on.

I know they are cheap on ebay but I would have to refit the stock plug I would have to get one from a wrecker and splice into my wiring harness to plug into the stock sensor but I think I am finally on the right track to do with my temps digital one sounds good but I still would like to keep the gauge in the dash more to look into

you could get a scanner and compare dash temp against the temp for the PCM.

If you want to go stock, I would buy a correct new sender of ebay for $35 free post

If you decide to go digital, wiring is separate, one new wire thru firewall

I would probably avoid a used part, as the ceramic plug is so easy to damage, and a bitch to remove

either way, the sender in there now will need to be removed
