Default Cruise Control

Been away 4 weeks Cairns to Sunshine Coast for a couple of weeks, then Canberra for a few days then back to Cairns. The Trailhawk went very well, except the cruise when set to cruise speed would over run by 10+ ks when going down a hill. The grand I traded kept to speed, Has anybody had this problem, or is it typical of a petrol Jeep?. Fuel Consumption 7.9 per 100 for a 7k+ trip very happy. Another query, is it possible to see GPS speed on the Nav?.

Never had that issue - mine uses the brakes to maintain the set speed when going downhill - it might overrun by 1-2kph but brings it back to the set speed soon enough.

Yep ditto. Usually I am on Adaptive cruise control and it definitely brakes to maintain downhill speed. Out of curiosity I used normal cruise the other day to see if it did and again, within 1~2kmh with it using the brakes.

Gps speed on nav - no, not an option I have seen. I have actually used a gps freeware app on my phone to check speedo acuracy after changing tyre sizes.

I have a 2015 TH v6 without Adaptive CC. It runs away down hill on fwy, too. Set it to 110 & before you know it you're doing 125.

If it's annoying you & you don't want to watch the speedo all the time, whack it into Sports mode & it'll stick pretty close to the speed you set...it just uses lower gears.

My old XR6 would let you set the CC tolerance, but there's no such setting on the TH.

BTW, I haven't seen a GPS speed on the satnav. Fingers crossed we get an AndroidAuto update one day. Then we'll have Google Navigator

Wow! - surprised to hear about those that hold good speed - because our TH also runs away by more than 10kph!! - it definitely doesn't use any braking...

Hmm. I'm wondering if those with adaptive cruise (tech pack option) are able to apply brakes to maintain speed, but those without the tech pack don't?

Haven't used ACC so much on our KL - It's job as a daily driver doesn't require the use of ACC and for longish journeys we tend to use the WK2 but we have a trip planned next week which we were going to take the GC but will now take the KL to test it.

We have no 'runaway' experience on the WK2 so will expect the same in the KL.

Will report back.
