Default Need a quick favour from someone with stock KK suspension & Rims/tyres?

I need a quick but big favour from someone that has stock KK suspension and wheels/tyres (and a tape measure, haha) - ideally the JET limited edition, but std model fine too. Actually non-std tyres/rims should be fine too. Could you pretty please measure from the centre hub of your wheel up to the guard of the wheel arch? Should be around 450mm - 500mm at the front (to the nearest mm would be much appreciated). Rear figures would be great too if possible.

Back story:
I've got stickered by the cops (in Perth, WA) for having an illegal suspension lift. It's a std 2" lift from CRD Stu... and should be within the legal 50mm allowed lift without an engineering cert. Ironically I've had the suspension in for 4 years (and it's been GREAT on and off road!). Anyway, the cops reckon I've exceeded the lift by 13mm @ the front and 4mm at the rear based on their figures for a KK Jeep.

I've put the stock suspension back in and I'm still sitting about 40mm higher at the front than the cops figure for how high I should be... I'll pass inspection, BUT I seem to think the cops have the wrong figure in their DB... as I should now be at the exact height they have in the DB - definately not 40mm over!!

I'm also wondering if the JET is sitting a tad higher than the standard KK model - which would also explain why I'm not back to the height the cops have in their DB??! So VERY keen to hear particularly from anyone with a JET KK.

Much Appreciated,
Andrew

Well there are known differences between the Jet and standard KKs so hope you can find another to back up your measurements. Not only to reverse any penalties but also send WA Police the bill for removal and re-installation of your suspension. Try looking at Carsales or similar to see if any dealers are holding stock, then head over with a tape measure. Remember to take photos of the vehicle as it stands, the suspension and measurements for proof.

Great thinking - thanks KKnut. Just saw my local dealer has a stock KK on their website... I'll go measure that... I'll also see if their service department has some figures on hand - you'd think they'd have a book of specs in the workshop?!
