Question Annoying Belt Squeal

Annoying Belt Squeal .........Says it all
It started after I replaced the clutch fan I had to remove the power steering pump to do the clutch fan replacement and the squeal seems to be coming from that pulley
I have had the belt off several times checking the alignment I have sprayed it with water when it is running and the squeal goes away for a bit so I am pretty sure its not a pulley the belt isn't that old and looks in good condition I just cant figure it out!
Question......does the power steering pump have a alignment? as I just did all the bolts up tight again when I put it back on
It is driving me nuts I just cant seem to figure it out
Belt tension is fine you can only turn it to about half way
anyone got any ideas?

what is the correct tension I just read 160 lbs as in really tight I have always tightened up to the point where it only twists a half turn one other dude on a US jeep forum says one quarter turn ? I am confused and the Gatorback belt they say is ridiculously $$$$$$ on ebay plus postage

when both my belts squeeled, i sprayed water on the belt, which quiet it, so i tighten alt on one fixed, new belt on other wrong size.

those steel pulleys looked pretty shiny, maybe he means deglaze them a bit, dunno

yes deglaze/ rough up the belt, wire brush for the ribbed side sandpaper/ file for the smooth side. mostly it works in my experience, sometimes it does not but it is quick and cheap to try, good luck with it.

well I tried the wire brush while running not much room without cutting your fingers off I then pulled the belt off to check the alignment while it was off I spun all the pulleys no noise put the belt back on and squeal out in the hot sun pulling my hair out I couldn't figure it out I didn't want to tighten the belt too tight I like it so you have resistance when you get to about half a twist then I remembered years ago I heard put some soap on the belt so I got a bar of soap and while running coated the ribbed side QUIET! when driving a slight cherp here n there under acceleration but on the whole QUIET!..............the belt must be glazed some how its not that old But I will just carry a Bar of soap with me .......................................
