Default TJ HARD TOP - Where to buy?

Hey everyone,

I've been scouring the interwebs for Australian suppliers of TJ hard tops.
Can't find anything other than eBay.

Went out to have a look at one today - 2k!!! 2nd hand and not what I would consider the best condition for the money asked.

The buyer has another one which I will hopefully get to look at soon.

Does anyone know of any other options rather than buying from the states?

I don't mind paying for 2nd hand stuff but I do mind paying for garbage.

I'm in Melbourne, so if anyone is interested in selling send me a PM.

Thanks,

Lest We Forget

It comes up from time to time on the for sale section, JeepFreak Oz, Jeep buy sell etc for around $1k. $2k is too much.

Diligence and patience, you'll find it..

I have purchased 2 in the last year. Paid $1200 for each of them. Worth it for that, they come up keep your eye out and be ready to snap up.

Don't know of anyone selling new hardtops in Oz.
I've seen second-hand priced from $0 to $2000 with $2k being the high end price.
But as mentioned above, most are between $1k - $1.5.
Definitely a sellers market though - don't be in a hurry to buy and something that ticks all the boxes will come but you have to be diligent because everyone else who wants one is looking for the same thing.
Famously, one of the members on here gave one away for free a few years ago - it was snapped up immediately. I believe it was great condition too.

Thanks for the response everyone. I'll just have to be patient. I can't believe no one stocks any aftermarket ones here in Australia. Seems like there is a market for them.

Cheers

The demand is too small for slow moving bulky goods for the price. I reckon if stocked in a warehouse, they would go for in excess of $3k before shipping.

Shipping is very expensive due to not only the weight of the hardtops plus treated wooden crates but also the huge space they occupy. Also require special handling ( 2 guys ) and a tail lift truck.

They add up and not many will pay.
